Sta.sh Writer Tutorial by winehaus Sta.sh Writer Tutorial by winehaus
This deviation was made to show how to use the Sta.sh Writer to make a Literature deviation, and a journal entry.

I apologise for the large file, but I wanted to be able to include full-size screenshots so that the viewer can see perfectly how to use sta.sh writer correctly.

Please download for full-view

Tutorial (C) =TheMasterNeko

If you can, please feature this so that more people will understand how to use sta.sh writer.

Editing problems?
"This doesn't cover the problem of editing, though. ...If you "continue" it parses everything and you can't edit your CSS."
Noted by `Mirz123 | When all the bugs are sorted, this will be fixed. :)

Having trouble being logged into Sta.sh?
"For that exact matter you'll have to set your browser to allow third-party cookies, since sta.sh uses deviantART.com's login cookie."
-Thanks to =Lupsiberg for contacting the +help desk about it.

How to Insert a Link into Sta.sh journal entry mode:
"Another tip for people writing journal entries. If you want to insert a link with custom text: write the text-->Highlight it-->Go to insert link-->Paste it and insert it-->Wah-la, you have a custom link."

Sooo recently...here I am doing my normal 'x readers' when I uploaded it, it goes to my journal. Seems weird enough. Then I did a new one and it went to journal too. WHat am I doing wrong? xD

When I'm editing a WIP, this annoying little window keeps popping up while I'm trying to edit it:

The page at Sta.sh says:

[object Object]

And whenever I see the file menu it says, 'last autosave was: never'

I am editing it on Saved Submissions, and using Google Chrome.

I never understood what's the point to Stash writer. I mean, how is it advantageous over just writing and submitting normally?

And even more people should know about this,
because there are still people who have problems and questions, and who don't use Sta.sh,
which I have grown to love.

I think that my tutorial doesn't help as much as it used to. :noes: Maybe some can still use it. :)

Erm, I know this might be a little late to ask, and I'm sorry if I missed it, but...Is it possible to put preview images for literature using Sta.sh Writer? ^ ^U I would stick with the old system, but coding the whole thing easily annoys me.

Editing Problems
I've been able to edit CSS through out the process, even after it's been published. This is not a universal bug.

HTLM Problems?
If you have already saved the literature, published or unpublished, you will not be able to simply ctrl+E to access the HTML anymore. You must first "Edit" the skin, and save with or without making alterations to the skin itself before you can access CTRL+E's functionality again.

Thumb Nails
Noted current bug: Using this feature as opposed to the code may cause issues with formatted images. If your CSS for thumbs isn't working, remove the Sta.sh inserted thumb and use the coding.

Hokay problem. I want to start a new piece on Sta.sh Writer, but every time I go to make a new one, it brings up one of my previous drafts! Do I have to delete or upload the drafts I have or is there something I can click that I can't see?

I've experienced this problem.

What I do is just ctrl+a and erase. If there is a skin on it, you can just take it off like you would put it on. :) No big deal.

Also, if you write a journal with Sta.sh, you can edit it to request a critique by managing your deviations. I did so with my latest journal, with lulzy results.

This needs to be featured as a DD.

How about large thumbs? I think it's something like <da:deviation id="260955867"/>, but I'm not entirely sure as of yet. :hmm:

I got a DD on 5th October though, so it can't happen. :noes:

Sta.sh does that with the options when dragging a deviation. :D
